FORT 007 – Class 7, this door is the top of the range bullet proof resistant door set.  They look like any other door on the street, yet they come in a FB 4 or FB 6 classification depending on your requirements.

Windows can also be supplied offering the same levels of protection as the doors, please ask us for a quote.  Our factory has designed, built, tested and patented the worlds only secure sash window.  This unique product can replace an existing grade listed window, rather than fitting an ugly impractical bullet proof sheet behind the present window.

LPS1175 classification explained:

Most building materials – plasterboard, brick, block, non security rated composite panels, doors, windows, steel cladding or shipping containers, etc., can be breached in a surprisingly short period of time.  The LPS 1175 test stipulates the allowable toolset and minimum time at each security rating level to prevent forcible entry through a building element.  In the case of a modular building, the test measures the time to make a hole big enough to get a person through (minimum of an elliptical shape 400mm x 225mm) plus it looks at all the joints and fixing to the building environment as appropriate.  In relation to getting access through a door set this standard ensures that the door and frame have a level of protection that you require.  Hopefully this knowledge will not be available to your potential intruder – which makes the test more onerous than it looks.

Class 1: Opportunist attack by bodily force using minimal tools (e.g. screwdriver, knife, pliers, etc),

Class 2: More determined opportunist attack with tools of a higher mechanical advantage (e.g. Class 1 tools plus bolt cutters, claw hammer, drill, etc).,

External Door with standard letterplate, door knob and FIAM key lock system

Class 3: Deliberate forced entry of protected premises using bodily force and a selection of attack options (e.g. Class 2 tools plus short axe, chisels, crowbar, gas torch, etc),

Class 4: Experiencing attempts at forced entry with higher tool levels (e.g. Class 3 tools plus felling axe, sledgehammer, steel wedges, disc grinder, jigsaw, etc),

Class 5: Serious attempts at forced entry with top end battery power tools used by fire and rescue teams (e.g. Class 4 tools plus circular saw and the awesome 750W reciprocating saw with specialist blades).  This is a massive step up in protection level from Class 4 – using state of the art cutting tools.

However these tools are readily available to anybody with serious intent.  So the test and certification process is designed to test the time required for any would be burglar to gain access into the building before being disturbed by neighbours or passing foot traffic.
